Sanken Electric to Set Up a New Sales Subsidiary in Taiwan

To support sales of semiconductor products in Taiwan and create a direct sales channel for its electronics products, Sanken Electric Co., Ltd. is establishing a wholly-owned, local sales subsidiary, Taiwan Sanken Electric Co., Ltd. The new firm will launch operations on July 1, 2001.
Sanken's semiconductor products have been sold in Taiwan for over 20 years. Annual sales of ¥4 billion have been transacted through its two local representatives up to now. The new move will strengthen the support for the local sales force and enable Sanken to expand its semiconductor business more stably while increasing demand for its electronics products. These products include CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamps) for LCD panel backlights along with AC adapters for notebook PCs and switching power supplies.
