Four Divisions of the Sanken Group obtain QS9000 certification.
| Sanken Electric Co., Ltd. today announced that four divisions,
Sanken Electric Semiconductor Headquarters together with the Diode Chip
Plant, Yamagata Sanken, and Ishikawa Sanken Machino Plant (under the Semiconductor
Headquarters Directorate relating to automotive electronic components),
recently acquired QS9000 certification. QS9000 is a quality standard established
by America's Big Three automakers (Chrysler, Ford, and GM) together with
five truck manufacturers. In total, seven divisions of Sanken Group have now acquired QS9000 certification. The previously certified divisions comprise Sanken's U.S. subsidiary; Allegro Microsystems Co., Ltd.; Allegro Micro Systems WG Co., Ltd.; and Allegro Microsystems Co., Ltd. Philippines. Even after certification of the four domestic divisions, the Sanken Group will improve its competitiveness in the electric equipment market by moving toward certification in the year 2000 of its other divisions involved in the production of electrical equipment (Fukushima Sanken, Kashima Sanken, Ishikawa Sanken Shiga Plant, Monzen Plant, Uchiura Plant, and Horimatsu Plant). This effort will be centered on the Semiconductor Headquarters QS9000 Promotion Project Conference (Quality System Management Conference), sponsored by the Semiconductor Headquarters. |
