Kashima Sanken Plant renovation and equipment investment announced.
[Capital Investment] In an effort to meet growing market demand for hybrid integrated circuits for audiovisual and office equipment applications, Kashima Sanken Co., Ltd., a Sanken Group company manufacturing automotive hybrid ICs, voltage regulators, and hybrid motor drivers, is investing 380,000,000 yen in new equipment. The company plans to start operation of an additional production line this August with a monthly target of 1.2 million units from the line by January 2000. Kashima Sanken Co., Ltd. (President Tadashi Takahashi, capital 75 million yen) is located in Hasaki-cho, Kashima-gun, Ibaragi Prefecture. [Plant Refurbishment] Prior to capital investment for the fiscal year, Kashima Sanken Co., Ltd. refurbished its plant this January. Established in 1970, Kashima Sanken has operated with seven buildings. Because of the advancing age of its production facilities, however, the company launched a renovation of its buildings and manufacturing facilities in January 1998 and rebuilt five of the seven plant buildings. The construction of the new plant cost approximately 1 billion yen. The new plant consists of 2-story buildings with an ALC-finished steel frame structure, and total floor area of 4,928 sq. m. With the new plant, the total floor area of Kashima Sanken Plant has increased 45%, to 6,800 sq. m. |
